The flames of the Bonfire
mark a time of renewal and new beginnings,
giving a feeling of the kindling of new dreams,
projecting hopes for the year to come.
In days gone by prayers were written
and cast into the flames of the bonfire
with the belief that the flames would
lift the prayers upwards and
so the prayers would be answered.
Still today fire has a way of cleansing
the powers of releasing emotions
by writing and burning the notes
with great effect are well known .
